An oak cabinet from the 1930s in a classic vintage art deco style, this item has been rubbed down and refinished, painted in black satin and edged in gold to highlight its genuinely beautiful features.
With two doors opening at the centre to an internal space with shelf either side of a set of three drawers - edged in gold and lined - this is an vintage item that has shifted and warped over the years so, where the doors don't meet perfectly in the centre (please see photos), this does not distract from the beauty of the piece.
The top surface has been sanded down, filled in places and gel stained to bring out the beauty of the wood - please check photos carefully as there is a small patch of water damage and a slight crack in the wood that is visible but not particularly noticeable.
Sturdy and solid, this piece was made in the 1930s as was very much built to last - where not hugely heavy it is a strong and stale as it would have been the day it was made and is a showcase in dovetail joints and craftsmanship that no flat pack could ever hope to rival.
A vintage piece from a bygone era, built to last another 90 years and bringing a touch of Gatsby flapper glamour to a retro setting - would add a touch of glam to a vintage home or make a beautiful shop display piece.
